New Canton Township Clerk Resigns School Board Seat

Michael Siegrist had earlier said holding two positions would not be a conflict.

(Posted Nov. 21, 2016) CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI – A few weeks ago, Michael Siegrist, newly elected Canton Township clerk, said he would make a decision about resigning from the Plymouth-Canton School Board after the elections. "If elected, I will cross that bridge when I come to it," he said. That bridge is here. On Friday he submitted his resignation from the school board, The Canton Observe reports.

“It has been a privilege and an honor to serve with everyone on this board,” Siegrist said. “I look forward to my new opportunity as Canton Township clerk and I look forward to watching P-CCS progress as a district.”

The school board will take applications to fill the position. The appointee will serve until it can be filled in the November 2018 election.
