ANN ARBOR, MI — A new tiki bar with a speakeasy-like atmosphere is now open in Ann Arbor.

Hunã, founded by the team behind James Beard Award-nominated Echelon Kitchen and Bar, opened Thursday at 200 S. Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor. It is tucked behind a discreet door on Washington Street just west of South Main Street.

The new 78-seat bar offers a modern reimagining of the tiki tradition, blending the intrigue of a hidden speakeasy with the relaxed escapism of a tropical hideaway. The inside features bamboo and thatched elements, warm layered lighting, stone accents and lush greenery.
