Northville Man Charged In Crash That Injured 2 In Canton Township

The crash happened last Thursday at a major Canton Township intersection, according to police.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A Northville man has been charged in connection with a crash that left two people seriously injured in Canton Township, according to police.

Ryan Emery, 44, was charged with two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious injury, which is a five-year felony. He was placed in jail and given a $50,000 bond.

If he is released from jail, he must wear a GPS and alcohol-monitoring tether. His next court date is scheduled for July 12.

Police said Emery was driving a black GMC Sierra north on Canton Center Road at 11 p.m. last Thursday when his vehicle smashed into a black Mitsubishi Eclipse that was moving west on Ford Road.

A 51-year-old Canton man, who was driving the Eclipse, and a 49-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Eclipse, were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
