P-CCS Board Of Education Meetings To Be Broadcast Live On 88.1 The Park

The decision to begin radio broadcasts for board meetings coincides with the board's decision to resume conducting in-person business.

As a part of an ongoing commitment to engage with district families, team members, and community stakeholders during the COVID-19 pandemic, Plymouth-Canton Community Schools officials have announced that tonight’s regular meeting of the Board of Education will be broadcast live on the district radio station, 88.1 the Park.

The decision to begin radio broadcasts for board meetings coincides with the board’s decision to resume conducting in-person business for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The broadcast will replace the live stream on the district’s YouTube channel, and will allow district officials to keep safety measures in place while still making meetings available in real time to a wider audience.

“As our district continues to navigate the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are thankful for the record levels of engagement we have seen during our virtual Board of Education meetings,” P-CCS Executive Director of Communications and Marketing Nick Brandon said. “Broadcasting meetings on 88.1 the Park allows us to use an outstanding district resource to continue to provide access to the community while promoting recognized social distancing practices and working within technical limits.”

Tonight’s board meeting will be open to the public. The meeting will be held at Discovery Middle School at 7 pm, and capacity will be limited to 70 persons. Masks will be required for entry, and must be worn throughout the meeting.
