Plymouth-Canton Veterans Thank Community For Successful Events
After the last of 3 BBQ Steak Dinner events, coordinator Bob Dew is grateful for the community support.
Our local Vietnam Veterans, at the Plymouth-Canton VVA Chapter 528 just finished up their Steak BBQ Dinner events for the summer, on Friday. These dinner events, which were coordinated by Bob Dew, were a tremendous success, and he just wanted to tell folks how grateful he was, for all the help from his fellow veterans, and all the support from our community.
It takes a lot of hard work to pull off one of these events, and make them successful. It also takes great steaks. The steaks were the star of the show for all three events, and those great steaks came from none other than Eastern Market of Canton. Marvin Jarbo, who is the owner, has been supporting our local veterans for years. He has distributed meat bundles, and turkeys over the holidays, along with contributing to our Meat Raffles every year, among many other things. These events were successful, because good weather, quality meat, and they were affordable dinners.
The biggest thanks though, goes to our community. For their and patience as It takes lots of work, and time, to cook perfect steaks, done to the wishes of each person. Al Sneath, and Tom McMullen, who were the grill masters were grateful for everybody's patience, as they set new records for dinners served, each and every month. At the last event, Friday, August 26th, they served a remarkable 180 BBQ Steak Dinners in about 3 ½ hours, and the good folks who came out to support our veterans were patient, and received an unbelievable Bone-In Ribeye, with potato and vegetable, for a great price of $15!
