Plymouth Police Car Struck In Hit-And-Run On I-275: Police

Police said a newer Ford Bronco struck the officer's car on the freeway near Plymouth Road and kept driving toward eastbound Interstate 96.

PLYMOUTH, MI — A Plymouth police car was hit Saturday night by an SUV that kept driving on Interstate 275 near Plymouth Road, while the officer was working a crash on the freeway, officials said.

The marked police car was struck by a newer black or dark-colored Ford Bronco at 2:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes on the freeway, officials said.

After striking the police car, officers said the driver of the Bronco stopped for a moment, but then took off on the freeway toward eastbound Interstate 96.
