Plymouth VFW Auxiliary To Host Annual Soup & Salad Dinner

This awesome event is an all you can eat Soup & Salad Dinner, and every single thing is homemade goodness! An event you won't want to miss.

We are in the dead of winter, it's cold and snowy, and what is the best thing to eat? Some nice hot homemade soup would be awesome! This is where the Plymouth VFW Auxiliary comes in to help. They are hosting their annual Soup & Salad Dinner this weekend! This event will be held at the Plymouth VFW Post on Saturday, January 17th, from 5-7 PM.

I am particularly excited about this dinner event because this is the very first event that I ever attended at the Plymouth VFW Post. I enjoyed the greatest soups, salads, and crock pot delights, and more importantly, had an absolute blast while meeting all of the great people at our Plymouth VFW Post.
There were two solid walls of different kinds of soups and salads, and I seriously wanted to try a little of each, but just couldn't get it done. Couldn't even come close. That is the great thing about this
being an annual event though, because folks can come back, and try different homemade creations every single year.

So I'll just say this before I get to the menu. If you enjoy soup, crock pot creations, and different varieties of homemade salads, you will enjoy this event. Not only will you enjoy some great food, but more importantly, you will get some great ideas to try out at home for the future! I won't lie, I always steal an idea or two from this annual event, and I am not ashamed to admit it either.

So here is the deal. For a mere $10 you will get a huge variety of hot soups & cold salads to choose from. Feel free to try as many as you like. There will also be some awesome cornbread, baked by our
very own Bob Brothers, who served our nation in Vietnam. The best cornbread you can ever ask for to eat with your meal, and Bob does it for this event every single year! As always, there will be coffee and tea, as well as a cash bar for those who prefer soft drinks, or something a little stronger.

Most importantly though, you will meet some of the best people around. I can't tell you how friendly and funny our local veterans and auxiliary members are at the Plymouth VFW Post. You'll spend a lot of time laughing and smiling, I promise you that! Judy Thomason is the coordinator of this event, and while it's a lot of work to pull off successfully, she is always happy to make events like this successful, and is always helping out at countless other events as well. So if you see Judy, please thank her for all of her hard work!

Another popular part of this event is the dessert table, and it is something to behold! This table will be filled with a variety of homemade desserts baked in the kitchens of VFW Auxiliary members, and they are spectacular. Beyond spectacular. I suggest walking to this table with the idea that you want to take home a few extra goodies for later. If you don't, you'll surely regret it. Additionally, for those of you who are feeling lucky, there will be really neat basket raffles, and a 50/50 raffle as well.
