Plymouth VFW To Host Car Show Wednesday To Benefit Family Of Vietnam Veteran
In the event of inclement weather, the car show may be canceled, but folks can still show up at the VFW Post 6695 and make a donation to the Pritchard family.
As many folks know, the VFW Post 6695 here in Plymouth hosts car shows every Wednesday evening. They are fun, you get to see some great rides, and there is always good music, and food readily available.
This Wednesday's car show is a little different though, and a lot more important. This Wednesday's car show has become a benefit for the family of Gary Pritchard. Mr. Pritchard served our country in the Vietnam War, and is a member of the Plymouth-Canton Vietnam Veterans of America. Gary's son, Wayne passed away suddenly, leaving behind 4 young children, and his wife, who was a stay at home Mom.
Not only is this an unimaginable loss for this family, but there is a suddenly huge financial burden to bear as well. One of the things I respect so much about these folks at the VFW & VVA is the way that they circle the wagons, and support their fellow veterans in times of need. They could use a little help this time. I can tell you that there have been donations coming from our vets, in the form of money, but also of non perishable food, and some gift certificates. So at this weeks car show, non perishable food items, and even gift cards will be gratefully accepted, as well as cash donations, which is what this family can use the most right now.

The details of the car show are as usual. Registration for all cars is free, and there will be door prizes for those who register their cars, so remember to register your car when you arrive.
For the folks that just want to show up and check out the classics, there will be food in the form of hot dogs, and burgers, there will be great homemade sweets, and there will be soft drinks, and stronger beverages as well. Again, all of the proceeds will be going to the Pritchard family.

There will be oldies music, with their very own DJ Koz spinning the records. I am told that there will be a pretty good 50/50 drawing, with other raffle prizes as well, and the proceeds from this will go towards the Pritchard family.

On a personal note, I really hope folks show up for this event. The proceeds will go to the struggling family of a Vietnam Veteran who served our country with honor. We don't get a bunch of opportunities these days to thank our vets, but this is one of those chances. If you can't stay for the car show or 50/50 drawing, maybe just show up and drop a few bucks in the jar for the Pritchard family. Our vets always do a great job of taking care of their fellow vets, but they could use a little bit of help with this one. Not only will the Pritchard family appreciate it, but a bunch of his fellow veterans will as well...
The Cruzin 528 Car Show will be in the parking lot of the Plymouth VFW Post 6695 on Mill Street, just north of Ann Arbor Road. It will be Wednesday, and it will be from 5 to 8 PM.
Come and check it out. There will be great cars, great food, and truly great people to meet.
