Plymouth Whalers Mascot Shooter is busy these days.
Not only is Shooter marching in the Plymouth and Northville Fourth of July parades on Friday, The Hardest Working Mascot in local sports is adding support and fun to the Whalers "25 Days of Giveaways" season-ticket holder campaign.
The campaign is simple – purchase a Whalers season ticket in full and you are eligible to win prizes via raffle.

Starting last week and running 25 consecutive days, one season ticket holder per day is chosen for prizes. The winner then chooses between the Whalers, CJ’s Brewing Company, the Compuware Pro Shop, Compuware Arena Drive Movie Theatre, vouchers and credits toward suite rentals, credits towards the 2014-15 Whalers hockey camps and clinics or a session of a Learn-to-Skate or Learn-to-Play.
The season ticket holders to win so far include:

“We appreciate all of our season holders,” said Char Merckel, Plymouth Whalers and Compuware Arena Director of Ticketing Operations. “They are a passionate and intelligent group, not only about the Whalers, but the OHL, too. All the gifts available are things that people who come to Compuware Arena will use, either for themselves or for members of their family. We’re trying to do something to support them and have a little fun at the same time.”
Indeed, the Whalers marketing staff (with Shooter’s help) have gone to some lengths to announce the winners in a creative, fun way – using the Compuware Matrix Board, Road Sign and other ways to spice up the announcements.
The next winner might have their name spelled out in pucks on the ice, find their name hung on a banner in the rafters of Compuware Arena or something else.
Once the winner is notified, the Whalers use their Facebook page to announce the winners, post the announcement and continue the fun.
What is Shooter going to do next? Stay tuned.
Better yet, purchase a season ticket so you can be part of the 25 Days of Giveaways.
