Most games cost just $1 to play, but the train ride around the neighborhood costs $4. It’s generally for kids under 10, but adults can ride along with their children. Pumpkin decorating is also offered, and the kids get to keep their pumpkins. Also, a balloon artist will be on hand making creations that the kids can take home.
Old Village Association member Mark Oppat said the event raises money to support the Old Village Association, which takes on beautification projects in the area.
“We invite everyone to bring their kids out in costume if possible but it’s not required,” Oppat said. “It’s a great little event where you don’t have to wait in long lines, there is something to do for all ages and it’s just a fun day event.”
Free parking is allowed along the curbs near the event.
The OVA meets at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month and is seeking volunteers for events and projects in the area.
