Shamed Dog Gets His Moment of Fame
Gordie eats whatever is in his path – his master's lunch, some kids' crayons, you name it – and now he's a naughty-dog cover boy.

A yellow Lab from Plymouth in the doghouse for stealing his owner’s lunch, eating a hockey puck, gobbling down a 64-pack of crayons and, well, snarfing down just about everything in sight, is gaining international fame for his gastronomic adventures.
Laurie Golden’s dog, Gordie, was chosen by Pascale Lemire of Vancouver, Canada, as one of the cover dogs for her international dog-shaming day-to-day calendar, the Observer & Eccentric reports.
He shares the honor with a Springer Spaniel that reportedly isn’t sorry for rolling in poop five minutes before the daily walk ends, according to Amazon.com, where the calendar can be purchased.

Gordie’s antics were among the most shameful of dogs from around the globe, according to Lemire, whose blog and website details the antics of renegade pooches.

“I took Mom’s lunch out of her bag and ate it while she was in the shower,” a note with Gordie’s picture explains.
Golden says there’s a little more to it than that.
He didn’t just eat the lunch. He broke into her backpack, pulled the peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich out of a zipped bag, unwrapped a granola bar and polished off the meal with her apple.
Golden said Gordie began chowing down on everything in sight about four years ago, when the dog was 7. Daughter Bryn Birchler had just baked some chocolate-chip cookies, which were cooling on the table, and Gordie made short work of them.
Gordie isn’t overweight, gets ample exercise and play time, and doesn’t get sick, even recently after eating a pound of paraffin wax and a stick of Crisco, Golden said.
He eats dog food and healthy human food, too.
“He loves bananas. He eats them whole with the peel,” Golden said. “He loves zucchini and potatoes and carrots and apples. He has eaten a whole bag of apples in one sitting.”
Lemire, who created a wall calendar, said entries for her dog-shaming blog come from around the world. “Dog-shaming is a worldwide phenomenon,” she told the Observer & Eccentric.
She also has created a dog-shaming wall calendar and written a book.
