Suspect Captured After Allegedly Robbing Canton Super 8

Police say the man pointed a gun at the clerk and seized an undisclosed amount of money.

Canton, MI – A man is in police custody after he allegedly robbed the Super 8 motel in Canton and attempted to steal an undisclosed amount of money.

The Canton Observer reported the suspect was captured by authorities in Ann Arbor the day after the alleged robbery took place.

“He went into the location and jumped the counter,” Canton police Lt. Craig Wilsher said. “He pointed a gun at the clerk.”

The suspect is being held on parole violations until he can be formally arraigned on charges expected for robberies in Canton, Van Buren and Ann Arbor.

No shots were fired and there were no injuries. The suspect has a criminal history.
