Tribalism and Dumb People

While Washington DC continues to literally destroy the country from the inside, many Americans still believe the debate between Coke and Pepsi is still where our true passion lies.  Or, maybe you and some of your friends, while under the influence and drunk on teen spirit, physically assaulted another person because they were wearing the other team's jersey.  Or, maybe you're one of those people who skirt questions and refuse to objectively listen to criticism about the current administration by pointing to the failures and disappointments of administrations past.  Let's just say I have a 10 year old and I'm a fan of the Cleveland Browns.  You have a 10 year old and you're a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Are you telling me you don't want the same things for your child's future as I do?  The two party system was created by those who would seek to control it, DUH!  I plead for people all across the country to shatter their tribal paradigms of the past and truly get in touch with their own moral compass.  When anyone tries to bait you into a tribal based debate, simply reply, "I'd like to have a discussion based on the current issues and the current facts.  I do not wish to engage in emotional debates about the past or what might happen in the future.  Would you care to have such a discussion?"
