Woman Hurt After Hit By Car While Crossing Canton Township Road: Cops

Police do not believe alcohol played a factor in the crash.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A woman was injured after she was hit by a car while crossing a Canton Township road early Monday morning, according to police.

Police said the woman was walking across Michigan Avenue at Haggerty Road at 1:15 a.m. when she was hit by a silver Acura was traveling west on Michigan Avenue.

The 39-year-old Canton Township woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was listed in critical condition, according to police.

Police said a 21-year-old Detroit man was driving the Acura at the time of the crash.
