Woman Steals Multiple Packages From Canton Township Homes: Police

A United Kingdom​ woman is facing charges after stealing multiple packages from homes at a Canton Township apartment complex, police said.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A United Kingdom woman is facing charges after stealing multiple packages from a Canton Township apartment, according to police.

Emma Barker, 34, was charged with larceny in a building and receiving and concealing stolen property, $1,000 or more but less than $20,000. She was placed in jail and given a $25,000 bond. If she posts bail, she must wear a GPS tether. Her next court date is scheduled for March 7.

If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine for the stolen property charge.

Police said Barker stole multiple packages from homes at the Ridgeline apartments, located on the east side of Interstate 275 south of Joy Road.

When officers searched Barker's apartment on Monday, they found several additional victims in the case, according to police.

Police described Barker as an illegal foreign national from England.
