1 Dead, 2 Hurt In Oakland County Motorcycle Crash: Police

Police do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash and were still investigating the incident.

BRANDON TOWNSHIP, MI — An Oxford Township man was killed and his grandson was injured in a motorcycle crash Friday in Brandon Township, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

David James Caulder, 60, was riding a 2021 Harley Davidson three-wheeled motorcycle south on Baldwin Road near Hummer Lake Road in Brandon Township at 1 p.m. when he collided with a 2019 Buick Envision, according to the sheriff's office.

The Buick, which was being driven by a 68-year-old Lapeer woman, was trying to turn left onto west Hummer Lake Road, turning in front of the motorcycle, according to the sheriff's office.

Both Caulder and his 12-year-old passenger, who was his grandson, were thrown from the motorcycle in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

Caulder, who was not wearing a helmet, was killed in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

The 12-year-old boy, who wearing a helmet, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.

The Lapeer woman was also taken to a nearby hospital, where she was also listed in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.
