2 Dead In Crash Involving Semi Truck On Detroit Freeway: Police
Two people from Oakland County were killed after an SUV they were in slammed into the back of a semi truck in Detroit, police said.
DETROIT — Two people were killed in a Tuesday crash involving a semi truck on a Detroit freeway, according to Michigan State Police.
Troopers said that the driver of the SUV lost control and crashed into the back of the semi truck on Interstate 75 near Clay Street at 3:20 p.m.
The 64-year-old driver from Oxford and the 53-year-old passenger from Rochester Hills were taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital where they died from their injuries, police said.

Officials did not release the victims' names as the crash remains under investigation, including a medical examiner's report.
The freeway remained closed until around 7 p.m.

"This investigation pends ME reports and further vehicle inspection," First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "It is our hope that drivers will see this preventable crash and slow down as we start the winter driving season."
