2018 Rotary Wine & Beer Tasting Fundraiser Tickets On Sale

Rochester Rotary Club starts selling tickets to the annual Wine & Beer Tasting Fundraiser at Bordine's.

Rochester, MI – Now in its 6th year, The Rochester Rotary Wine & Beer Tasting has become one of Rochester’s biggest Spring Events.

“We had people calling and emailing us in February, asking when tickets are going on sale,” said event leader John Gaber. “The enthusiasm is beyond anything we considered when we started this a few years back. But with the efforts of our club members, the generous support of Bordine’s and dozens of other local businesses, it’s become quite a sensation.”

The 2018 event will take place on Friday, April 20th at 6:30pm at the Rochester Road Bordine’s store at the corner of Rochester and Hamlin. It will feature several wine and beer tasting tables, food from 20 local restaurants, a 50/50 Raffle to support Rochester Area Neighborhood House, and exquisite jewelry from Haig’s of Rochester.

Last year’s attendees may remember the huge Silent Auction featuring incredible items like dinner and Royal Park Hotel date night packages, Week-long Stays at Condos in Florida, Rounds of Golf, Detroit Sports Tickets, and more.

This year’s Silent Auction will be even bigger and better than ever, with the goal of raising over $10,000 for local area charities.

“The Wine and Beer Tasting Event is far and away our largest charity fundraiser of the year,” said club President Ron DiLiddo. “It’s an exciting, dynamic night full of outstanding wine, beer, and food, all in the company of some of the best people you’ll ever meet. I can’t think of a better way to spend an April evening.

As usual, the fundraiser will take place at Bordine’s Nursery on Rochester Road. In addition to enjoying the food and drink, attendees will have a chance to preview the Bordine’s Spring Expo displays ahead of the public. Entertainment will be provided by the Lights Out Entertainment. Tickets are just $50 and you can buy them from any Rotarian or at the Bordine’s Store.

Second time Silent Auction leader Ron Lichtle mentioned, “Our Silent Auction helps us support organizations in Rochetser that are doing an incredible amount of good. We make regular donations to Rochester Community House and Leader Dogs for the Blind, and provide scholarships for Rochester kids. The more we raise, the more we can help and that makes it all worth it.”
