Grants also went to the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, both of which have been under federal investigation for their handling of sexual assault reports.
Earlier this fall, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights said in a damning report that Michigan State’s mishandling of sexual assault violations from 2005 to 2014j may have “contributed to a continuation of a sexually hostile environment” for students and staff.
