The decision to close the road was made by RCOC after a routine maintenance check
identified needed repairs to prolong the structural integrity of the bridge over the Clinton
River.

"With over 23,000 drivers every day, it is imperative that we ensure that Adams Road is safe for our residents," Mayor Bryan K. Barnett said. "Our team in the Department of Public Services is working diligently with the Road Commission to minimize the impact this project has on daily commutes."

The detour for the closure will be Hamlin Road to Crooks Road to Avon Road back to Adams Road and vice versa, according to RCOC.

RCOC will be placing the appropriate directional signage and electronic message boards two weeks prior to the construction.

Residents and commuters are asked to respect the designated speed limits and be
courteous of neighbors, understanding neighboring streets will be shouldering an
additional burden during this time.
