Boil Water Advisory Issued For Rochester Hills/Oakland Township

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — Officials on Wednesday issued a boil water advisory for parts of Rochester Hills and Oakland Township.

The advisory affects the northwest portion of Rochester Hills and southwest Oakland Township.

Great Lakes Water Authority officials at 11 a.m. Wednesday discovered a leak that pushed water pressure levels to drop below 20 PSI, leading to potential bacteria contamination.

Officials did not exactly pinpoint the location of the leak.

Under a boil water advisory, residents must bring all water to a boil for one minute and then let it cool before using. Boiled, bottled or disinfected water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing food until further notice.
