ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — The Dime Store in Rochester Hills will shutter its doors after Sunday, which is also Mother's Day and a popular time for brunch.
The restaurant opened along Rochester Road in 2024 with plans to become a long-term part of the community.
"Over the past couple of years we poured a tremendous amount of time, energy and heart into trying to make that happen," staff said Wednesday. "But restaurants ultimately have to work financially. The simple truth is that this one didn’t. We tried a lot of different things along the way to make it sustainable, but in the end we ran out of runway."
The Dime Store also has a restaurant at Fort and Griswold streets in downtown Detroit. That restaurant, which opened in 2014, will stay open.
The Dime Store's brunch-centric menu includes, breakfast style cheesesteaks with house-made hollandaise, hash and omelettes, as well as a full bar.
