PONTIAC, MI — Police are looking for two SUV drivers after a weekend hit-and-run crash in Oakland County, according to the sheriff's office.
The crash happened at 11:41 p.m. Sunday on Featherstone at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Pontiac, officials said.
Officers found the 60-year-old man lying dead in the middle of Cameron Avenue just north of Featherstone, officials said.
A blood-stained drag mark, which started roughly a half mile west of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, led to the body, officials said.
Investigators determined the man was crossing Featherstone at the crosswalk when he was hit by an SUV. They believe the driver pulled off to the side of the road but did not stop or report the crash.
A second SUV then struck the man and continued moving east on the road, officials said.
Neither driver reported the crash, officials said.
Officials did not give a description of either SUV and no other details about the crash were released.
"It is hard to fathom that a person would strike another human being with a car and drive off leaving them to die," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "We would greatly appreciate the public’s help with any information that could identify the individual(s) involved. A reward is possible if it leads to the arrest and conviction of an individual."
Officials are still investigating the crash and asked anyone with information to call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office at 248-858-4950 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800 SPEAK-UP.
