PONTIAC, MI — A teen was injured in an off-road vehicle crash in Oakland County on Monday, according to sheriff's officials.
The crash happened at 6:34 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Elm Street in Pontiac, officials said.
A 15-year-old Pontiac resident and a 16-year-old Pontiac resident were riding four-wheelers north on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard intending to turn east into Murphy Park, officials said.
The 16-year-old successfully completed the turn, but the 15-year-old, who was riding a 2016 Polaris Sportsman ATV, was unable to negotiate the turn, officials said.
The teen was thrown from the ATV as it rolled over, officials said.
The teen was taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital and listed in serious but stable condition, officials said.
He was expected to be moved to Children's Hospital for more treatment, officials said.
Officials said neither teen was wearing a helmet. They do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Officials were still investigating the crash.
