PONTIAC, MI — A man was killed and another man was injured in a Tuesday night shooting in Pontiac, according to sheriff's officials.
The shooting happened at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 30 block of Candlelite Lane in Pontiac, officials said.
Officers arrived and found a 39-year-old Pontiac man outside the apartment suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand, officials said.
They noticed the apartment's storm door was shattered with multiple bullets across the front entrance, officials said.
Once inside, they found a 53-year-old Jethro Jackson, Jr., also of Pontiac, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, officials said.
Officials immediately began life-saving measures on Jackson before he was taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he died, officials said.
The man who was shot in the hand was also taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital and later released, officials said.
Officials did not release any details about possible suspects.

Tipsters, who remain anonymous, may also be eligible for up to a $2500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
