Rochester Woman Charged In Crash That Killed Her 86-Year-Old Mother: Prosecutor

Prosecutors said the woman was speeding in an SUV when she crashed, killing her passenger, who was her mother.

ROCHESTER, MI — A Rochester woman is facing charges in connection with a crash that killed her 86-year-old mother last November, according to prosecutors.

Sandra Webb, 60, was charged with a moving violation causing death, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison.

She was placed in jail with a $30,000 bond. If she posts bail, she must wear a GPS tether.

Webb was speeding through Warren in her 2025 Chevrolet Trax with her 86-year-old mother, Alice Toss, in the passenger's seat on Nov. 21, 2025, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors said Webb was speeding over 70 miles per hour when she drove up a curb, crossed a yard and crashed into a residence on Frazho Road.

They were both taken to nearby hospitals where Toss died, according to prosecutors.

"The loss of a mother is heartbreaking under any circumstances, but this case is especially tragic because the defendant is the victim's own daughter. While we cannot undo this loss, we will pursue justice based on the facts and evidence in this case," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said.
