• Food Scraps Recycling Program Sprouts in Rochester, MI (wasteadvantagemag.com) — Rochester has launched a free food-scraps recycling program, letting you collect kitchen waste at home and drop it at three green bins at the city's Department of Public Works on North Wilcox. Partnering with My Green Michigan, the city will turn those scraps into compost for local farms and gardens, helping cut landfill waste and climate-warming emissions.
   

• Gifts For All God's Children Launches Annual Christmas Giving Tree Program (businessdailynetwork.com) — A Rochester-based nonprofit is inviting local businesses, churches, schools, and community groups to join its Christmas Giving Tree Program, matching donors with children whose families are struggling. You can register online, pick up wish-list tags, and return unwrapped gifts by December 5 to the Gifts For All God's Children workshop on North Pine Street in Rochester, which offers extended hours in December.
