ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A North Branch man is facing charges after prosecutors said he sexually assaulted a woman during a massage appointment in Oakland County.
Nathan Adam Thornsberry, 44, was charged with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, which is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Prosecutors said the incident happened on Aug. 12 at Rochester Hills spa where Thornsberry was working as a massage therapist.
While providing a massage to a woman at the spa, prosecutors said he touched her intimate areas and sexually penetrated her with his finger.
The woman told him to stop, but he continued touching her as he withdrew his hand, according to prosecutors.
"Massage and other therapeutic treatments are professional services. Customers have a right to expect to be treated professionally," Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said. "This defendant allegedly abused his position of trust to violate the victim."
