Army Captain and President Trump-endorsed Republican Mike Bouchard Jr. and Attorney Democrat Christina Hines are vying for Michigan's 10th congressional seat.
The district includes southern Macomb County and Rochester Hills.
Here are the live, unofficial election results:
Bouchard Jr. - 26,737
Hines - 25,793
Precinct Reporting - 14 percent
The battle is to replace U.S. Representative Republican John James, who opted to run for governor. James won the swing district by less than one percentage point in 2022 and about six points in 2024.
The last Democrat to win the seat was David Bonior in 1992. He held the seat until 2002.
Bouchard Jr., a member of the Army National Guard, has discussed strengthening U.S. national security and adding manufacturing jobs.
Hines has cited affordability as a top concern, specifically President Trump's tariffs, which she believes have harmed the district's manufacturing sector.
