ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — Officials are looking for more victims after an Oakland County massage therapist was accused of sexually assaulting a woman.
Nathan Adam Thornsberry, 44, of Lapeer County, was charged with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, which is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
He was placed in jail with a $10,000 bond.
The incident happened on Aug. 12 at Rochester Hills spa where Thornsberry was working as a massage therapist, according to officials.
Officials said Thornsberry touched the woman's intimate areas and sexually penetrated her with his finger. The woman told him to stop, but officials said he continued touching her as he withdrew his hand.
On Oct. 28, the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office authorized one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct against Thornsberry. He was arrested the next day at his new place of employment, another spa in Shelby Township, according to officials.
Since Thornsberry's arrest became public, officials said several people have come forward and accused Thornsberry of sexual contact.
While police are still investigating those claims, they believe there may be other people who experienced similar conduct but have not yet contacted police.
"I'm proud of how quickly, and with a sense of urgency, our team investigated these allegations, located the suspect, and took him into custody," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.
Officials encourage anyone who believes they may have been subjected to inappropriate sexual contact or other misconduct by Thornsberry, whether at his former workplace in Rochester Hills or elsewhere to speak with investigators.
Those individuals can contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Rochester Hills Substation at 248-537-3530.
