Antler Hunt: Rochester Hills Offers Guided Tour April 6
Families can go on guided adventures through Bloomer Park to look for antlers shed by Michigan's white-tailed deer.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — It’s time for the annual Antler Amble in Rochester Hills. Each winter, white-tailed deer in Michigan shed their antlers and grow new ones in the spring; during the Antler Amble, families are guided through the city’s Bloomer Park to discover these natural treasures. Explorers get to keep the antlers they find that day.
The event is set for 1-2:30 p.m. April 6 in rain or shine. It’s part of the city’s new outdoor engagement programming that offers residents experiences to connect with nature.
"It’s a challenging ‘treasure’ hunt that has a fun competitive edge but a relaxing, outdoor calm to it as well,” said Naturalist and Outdoor Interpreter Lauren Oxlade, who will help guide the wooded tour. “This time of year, the birds are singing, the Skunk Cabbage is sprouting, and there's lots of wildlife activity to enjoy in the woods, even if we don't find any antlers!
