The Auburn Hills Morning Optimist Club celebrated Avondale High School students recognized by the Michigan High School Athletic Association as All-State Athletes during a special breakfast with their families and friends. The Club, who supports many Avondale School District programs, donates a plaque featuring each of the student’s picture and distinction as an All-State Athlete to hang in the high school athletics department “Hall of Fame”.
The All-State Athletes honored were Noah Burton (track), Emil Nkemdilim-Dantzler (swimming), Jerimiah Evans (track), Ryan Srock (track), and Ben Zaremba (cross country). The student athletes represent the best of the best from across the State of Michigan said Avondale Athletic Director, Keith Gust. “Thousands of high school athletes are in competition for that All-State distinction,” he said, “the students that reach that level are dedicated and hard-working and it’s great that the Optimist Club recognizes them for that – it shows their commitment to the young people of our community.”
