AUBURN HILLS, MI — Police are searching for an endangered missing infant whom they believe was taken by the mother in Auburn Hills.

The Auburn Hills Police Department issued an Endangered Missing Alert Monday evening for 1-month-old Eliza Prowell-Smith.

The baby was last seen Friday at her home in the 2300 block of South Boulevard, between Opdyke Road and Interstate 75, before she was taken by her mother, 32-year-old Amanda Prowell-Smith, according to police.

The mother has a documented mental status and police believe that the child may be in danger.

The mother does not have a car and it is not known whether she left on foot or in a vehicle, according to police.

Moreover, the mother has no money, no job, and no means of taking care of a child, according to police.

Officials asked anyone who knows of the mother and infant’s whereabouts to call 911 or the Auburn Hills Police Department at 248-370-4444.
