Avondale High School honors Top Scholar Alexandra Sokana
Academic achievement and student involvement highlight high school years

Avondale High School Top Scholar Alexandra Sokana is the daughter of Lorans Sokana and Stacie McVeigh and she resides in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She was in the National Honor Society for three years and on the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout high school. She was a mentor in the LINKS program and also volunteered more than 125 hours helping in the community. Alexandra served as a mentor in the Freshman Transition Class, offering guidance and support to underclassman as they navigated their first year of high school. Alexandra played volleyball for four years, on the Varsity team in her junior and senior years. She was also on the soccer team, on Varsity for her sophomore, junior and senior years and served on the Class Board her senior year. In the fall, Alexandra will attend Michigan State University, Lyman Briggs College to study Human Biology. Her ultimate goal is to become a Pediatrician.
