Avondale Schools celebrates Top Scholar Jack Youngs
Theater achievements highlight high school career

An Avondale High School Class of 2020 Co-Valedictorian Jack Youngs resides in Troy, Michigan with his parents, Dave and Susan Youngs. Jack was a member of the National Honor Society, Class Board and the Avondale Leadership Team. A member of the Varsity tennis team for four years, Jack earned All-League distinction as a junior and a senior, was a Scholar Athlete four times, and as a freshman, received the Coaches Award. In addition to achieving in academics, he excelled in the performing arts. He earned his Varsity letter in theatre as a freshman and was named “Rookie of the Year”. He performed in six mainstage high school productions since middle school and two black box productions. His sophomore year he was awarded a “Certificate of Honor for Superior Individual Performance” at the state MIFA festival. Jack was a member of Forensics his freshman year, participating in the state qualifying Multiple Competition, performing Sweeney Todd.
Jack was also a member of the choir group, the Men of Avondale since 7th grade. He received Superior solo and ensemble ratings at the District and State levels for solo performances every year he has participated and sang with the Regional Honors Choir his freshman year. Jack will be attending the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. He will be pursuing a dual major in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
