Avondale Schools honors Nikita Shetti as Top Scholar
Academic achievement, student involvement, athletics sets student apart

Avondale High School Class of 2020 Top Scholar Nikita Shetti is the daughter of Vinayak and Neeta Shetti and she resides in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Nikita was a member of NHS for three years, helping to run the American Red Cross Blood Drive for two years. She was on the Principal’s Honor Roll for four years, took several Honors and AP classes, and received the 2019 AP Scholar Award. She was also in the Spanish Honor Society for two years and was on Class Board. Nikita was involved in the LINKS program as a senior and she tutored elementary school students after school. In addition to her academic achievements, Nikita also excelled athletically. She was on the Varsity sideline and competitive cheer team for three years, receiving the Purple and Gold Award in 2018. In 2017, 2018, and 2019 she received the OAA Scholar Athlete Award, the CCAM Academic All-State Individual Award, and the Avondale Scholar Athlete Award. Nikita was also in the Diversity Club, choreographing the Indian Dance for the 2020 assembly and a counselor at the Camp Invention Summer STEM Program. She will be attending Michigan State University’s Honors College in the fall to study Applied Engineering Sciences.
