Big Reveal: ‘Rochester Posed’ Features Beloved Movie Characters

ROCHESTER, MI — Live mannequins costumed as beloved movie characters will make Downtown Rochester window displays come to life in the fourth annual “Rochester Posed” event to be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.

The theme this year, “Classic Movies,” will feature characters from timeless favorites such as “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Forrest Gump.”

“This is a must see event that appeals to people of all ages,” Stephanie Hellebuyck, events coordinator of the Rochester Downtown Development Authority, said in a news release. “The participating businesses put a lot of time and creative effort into making their windows come alive.”

Nearly 20 businesses will participate in “Rochester Posed.” Each business will depict a different classic movie using live mannequins in their storefront windows. Live mannequins will be revealed at 7 p.m. and will remain posed until 9 p.m. while visitors enjoy an evening of strolling, shopping and dining.

New this year, the public will vote for their favorite live mannequin display. Text-to-vote will be available from 7-10 p.m. Specific details will be listed at each of the participating locations, as well as the event program.

The winners will be announced on Friday, Oct. 7. The winning business will receive a certificate and bragging rights. Each window will remain a “surprise” until the unveiling on Oct. 6.

“Rochester Posed” is presented by Buffalo Wild Wings and Downtown Rochester.
