
As the Birmingham Maple Clinic continues to look for ways to meet the mental health needs of the community, they are pleased to announce the addition of six therapists, bringing the total number of therapists to 35. Since 1972, the outpatient clinic has provided the metro Detroit community with premiere mental health diagnostic and treatment services.
CEO/Owner and therapist Lori Edelson, LMSW, LMFT, has seen an increase in requests for specialty behavioral treatment. “As our community needs expand, Birmingham Maple Clinic is meeting the demand for experts in psychiatry, psychology and social work,” said Edelson. “We are fortunate to be able to add to our highly qualified staff of professionals who are passionate about mental health care and embrace our goals.”

Whitney Carnicom, MA, TLLP -Treatment of adults, adolescents and children for depression, generalized anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD, history of sexual or physical abuse or acute stress. Other areas of specialization include treating survivors of trauma, perfectionism, body dissatisfaction, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, adjustment to major life transitions and stress associated with chronic illness.
Ronald Hormel, LLPC -Treatment of teens, emerging adults and adults in individual, couple, and family therapy. Areas of specialization include adjustment disorders, gay and lesbian (LGBTQA) issues and concerns, relationship and family issues, religious struggles, grief and loss, chronic/devastating illness, anxiety, and depression. Other areas of expertise include cognitive-behavioral, and family systems orientations.

Monica Galinsky, LLMFT - Certified limited license marriage and family therapist who specializes in working with individuals, couples and families with mood and behavioral disorders. Monica uses an active, collaborative approach and is trained in the Systems Theory method.
Erica Lupiloff, MA, LLP - Individual psychotherapy with adolescents and adults. Areas of specialty also include anxiety, depression, acting out and behavioral issues, phobias, eating disorders, relationship issues, and life transitions. Psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioral orientation.
Michael Krstevski, MS, TLLP -Individual psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Also works with families to provide parenting techniques and guidance. Areas of specialization include, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, history of abuse (physical and sexual), school refusal, underachievement, difficulty socializing/ social anxiety.
Jennifer Hanawalt, PhD, LLP -Child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy and assessment with specializations including anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, grief, adjustment related issues, developmental disabilities, parenting work, and co-existing medical, physical, and mental health difficulties. She also works with individuals on the Autistic Spectrum and can provide testing and evaluation for Autism, using the ADOS method. Jennifer has experience working with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices for individuals with communication difficulties as well as cognitive behavioral and integrative orientation.
