C-Section Doesn't Keep 'Supermom' from College Graduation
New Rochester Hills mom Sarah Ghuneim said she wanted to teach her daughter "there are no excuses" to not follow her dreams.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – Attending Oakland College graduation ceremonies seemed out of reach for Sarah Ghuneim, 26, of Rochester Hills, Saturday.

Ten days earlier, she had undergone an emergency Caesarean section after six days of labor at Troy Beaumont Hospital, and was supposed to have been on bed rest for two weeks.

“I was so close to not even (participating in commencement),” Ghuneim told The Oakland Press. “I had this moment of power. ... I felt like Supermom.”
So Supermom went to her commencement ceremony, her newborn daughter in tow.

“I want my daughter to realize there are no excuses,” she said. “I want to inspire other women to keep their heads up and continue to fulfill their careers no matter what obstacle.”
