Why are you seeking elective office?
I decided to run again because, I have experienced it takes time to get things done in government and I would like another term to accomplish more for the residents.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Rochester is an excellent community - need leadership to continue forward. Specifically - fiscal responsibility, infrastructure (reduce water rates and maintain excellent service), and preserve our community lifestyle.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have a blend of business(small and large), non profit and now government experience to bring to the table. I have a track record of working well with everyone to get things done.
How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?
City of Rochester issues have been handled well.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
During my first campaign I was made aware of public concern over the Community House. As I was elected I made it a goal to make the Community House a priority - we now have a first ever 20 year long term agreement and an approved renovation for the building. The Community House is our Home in the Park and this winter/spring construction will take place. I hope to be re-elected to celebrate the grand remodel a year from now.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
100% peer support elected as Mayor Pro-Tem. Also, my work experience as an executive at Chrysler - similar population at the Headquarters building has prepared me to navigate the political dynamics of Rochester City Council and City Administration.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Listen more than you speak. You have 2 ears and 1 mouth.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I would be honored to serve them again and am always available to listen if there are issues they see that need to be addressed.
