City Offers Mea Culpa, Issues Correct Tax Bills

A transmission error resulted in Rochester residents getting incorrect tax bills.

Oops.

The city of Rochester said it is sending corrected tax bills to residents after sending out the wrong information.

The city said a transmission mistake resulted in residents receiving summer tax statement totals in their winter bills, according to The Oakland Press.

Correct bills that will be sent in the coming days will state: “The original tax bill you received incorrectly used the summer tax information. Enclosed is the corrected tax bill with the winter tax information, which is the right amount to pay.”
