Rochester, MI – Pure Existence Dance has been producing captivating performances for five seasons at a multitude of theatres and performance spaces all over Michigan. This season, company director Jodie Randolph wanted to allow her dancers to spread their choreographic wings and step away from the company’s typical repertory rehearsal format.
On October 28th at 7pm and 29th at 2pm, PE will present Cultivate at the Eisenhower Dance Center Blackbox Theatre, 103 South Street, Rochester, MI. Tickets are $15 and available at www.pureexistencedance.com/cultivate
Since late-August, the PE company members and invited alumni have been in the studio weekly creating new works. In a truly collaborative spirit, they are working together to perform in each other’s works, including the company apprentices in the process, and receiving guidance from Randolph as the work continues to develop. The culmination of their research and exploration will be presented in the intimate theatre space at Eisenhower Dance Center, giving the audience an up-close experience with the work.

“To me, Cultivate means discovering who I am as an artist and learning from the process of choreographing. With Jodie’s support, I feel that this process has helped me discover what it is that I really need to say, using dance as the medium. Cultivate is sure to be a raw and honest look at the way we, as PE, are moved to do our part in spreading the goodness of art and dance,” says Madelyn Prebola, company member and choreographer.
Cultivate will be the company’s only showing in the Rochester area this season. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.pureexistencedance.com and follow the company on social media.
