Driver Who Slammed into Home May Have Medical Issue: Police

A motorist was taken to the hospital for evaluation after smashing into the back of a Rochester Hills home.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – Some Rochester Hills residents got a jolt Sunday evening when an out-of-control vehicle smashed into the back of their home, authorities said.

Neither the driver nor the residents of the home in the 800 block of Timberline Drive were injured in the accident, which occurred about 6 p.m., but the driver may have experienced a medical issue and was taken to Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills for evaluation, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The sheriff’s office said the vehicle had had been traveling westbound on Tienken Road when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and left the roadway, continued through a vacant field, through some trees and crashed into the back of a house.

The Rochester Hills Fire Department disconnected the gas line to the residence and shored up the foundation, the sheriff’s office said.
