Rochester Community House and Rochester Area Neighborhood House are coming together for the CROP Hunger Walk this year. The 2011 walk for hunger will take place on Sunday, Oct. 9, at the Kiwanis Pavilion on Rochester’s Paint Creek Trail. This 4.3-mile long walk will begin at 2 p.m.
Founded by Church World Service, CROP Hunger Walks help children and families all over the world as well as right here in the U.S. Walkers in Rochester will come together to help raise money to provide food for those in need.
To assist with the Community House efforts to support the community, the Community Kitchen is in need of nonperishable canned food items including canned meats, pastas, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, and pancake mixes. It also accepts personal hygiene items and paper products such as soaps, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and toilet tissue.
