Have a smashingly good time competing (or just watching) in pumpkin launching. Using a medevial weapon of war called a "trubuchet" (treb-you-shay), teams will compete for both distance and accuracy. There is an adult/open division, and a separate "under age 15" division.
In the 2010 competition, the longest distance was an astonishing 1187 foot launch, by the team known as the Masters of Mayhem. 2011 was the first year for competition based upon accuracy as well as distance. The Cranbrook Science team (led by a Lake Orion h.s. student) won, hitting dead-on from 250 feet away.
Admission is a mere $5/car to enter the County park.
