Rochester College Explores Life Of Christ Through Performance Of “Jesus Christ Superstar”
Rochester College will present Jesus Christ Superstar from Nov. 11-13 as its first theatrical performance of the fall 2011 academic semester.
Andrew Lloyd Webber composed a stirring score for Jesus Christ Superstar, a musical loosely based on the final week of Jesus' life. The original production created an uproar for recasting the Son of God as an uncertain man who victimized an unsuspecting Judas.
With stirring performances by RC students, alumni and faculty, this show will be re-conceived to explore Christ's authentic humanity and his relationships with the disciples. The show features students James Busam as Judas and Danielle Diehl as Mary Magdalene. RC alumnus Clay Hargrave will portray Jesus.
