Ex-Oakland Co. Teacher Pleads Guilty To Sex Charges Involving Teen She Was Tutoring: Prosecutor
She will also be required to remain on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry for the rest of her life.
WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, MI — A former Oakland County teacher can spend more than a decade in prison after pleading guilty to sex charges involving a student, according to the prosecutor's office.
Jocelynn Sanroman, 27, pleaded guilty to three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. She will be sentenced on April 28 and faces up to 15 years in prison.
Sanroman will also be required to remain on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry for the rest of her life.

Prosecutors said Sanroman was having sex with a 16-year-old student she was tutoring in Pontiac in 2023.
At the time, she was working at Oakside Scholars Charter School in Waterford Township, prosecutors said.

Officials opened the investigation after Sanroman told fellow worker about the sexual misconduct. The colleague then told school officials, prosecutors said.
"Jocelynn Sanroman was entrusted to educate and protect children," said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald, in a statement. "Instead, she violated that trust to sexually exploit a teenager. This resolution holds Sanroman fully accountable for her crimes and protects future students."
