First Booster Doses Of Pfizer’s COVID-19 Vaccine This Week

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — The Oakland County Health Division said Tuesday it will begin administering Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine booster dose on Wednesday at the Southfield Pavilion in Southfield from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

An appointment is not required but recommended, according to a county news release.

Anyone 18 and older who received the first and second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine may be eligible for a booster shot, as long as it has been at least six months from your second dose.

Other Oakland County dates the booster shot will be available:

Thursday, Sept. 30

• Drive-through clinic on the Oakland County government campus, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac in the parking lot between the North Office Building (26 East) and the Medical Examiner’s Office (28 East)from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Indoor clinic at the Karl Richter Community Center, 300 East St., Holly from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 1

• Drive-through clinic at the Rochester Fire Dept., 277 E. 2nd St., Rochester from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 2

• Drive-through clinic at Novi Fire Station No. 4, 49375 W. 10 Mile Rd., Novi from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

"It remains essential for unvaccinated individuals to begin their series of COVID-19 vaccines to help prevent the transmission of the disease even as the Pfizer booster becomes available to those who have received two Pfizer doses," Oakland County Health Division Medical Director Dr. Russell Faust said in a news release. "Those who are unsure about whether to get a vaccine or booster or have questions should consult a healthcare provider."
