ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A 26-year-old Madison Heights man who allegedly fired a gun inside a Rochester Hills apartment Monday, striking a bed where a 13-year-old was sitting with an infant, is being held in the Oakland County Jail pending charges, authorities said Friday.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that deputies were called to the 1400 block of Tienken Court about 7:40 p.m. to assist medics with the Rochester Hills Fire Department, who had responded to reports that the Madison Heights man was passed out in a vehicle.

While the medics were attending to the man, the 25-year-old resident of the apartment came out and removed the alleged shooter's handgun from the vehicle, the sheriff's office said.
