Keighley Shares Passion for Community with Kick-Off Event

Amanda H. Keighley, Rochester City Council candidate, invites residents to The Rochester Community House for a campaign kickoff party Thursday June 20, from 6-9 p.m.

“I am excited to host this party, not only to kick start my campaign but to highlight some of my favorite things about Rochester, like The Community House. From pancake breakfasts’ to the Festival of Trees so many of my fondest Rochester memories were made here and I am so excited to share that love with my friends, family, and supporters.”

Attendees will also enjoy drinks, appetizers, and live music performed by Amanda’s friend John Garner.

“Folksinger John Garner is a talented musician who plays regularly at Dessert Oasis to help raise money for the Michigan Humane Society. The way he has uses his talents for a noble cause is an inspiration to me and I am honored to be able to include him at my kickoff,” said Amanda.

A special craft beer made by the talented brewer Jeff Russell will also be featured at the party and prizes like a gift certificate to Paint Nail Bar and Xtend Barre, club level seats to a Tigers game, and Mrs. Beasley personal care products will be raffled off.

Amanda announced her candidacy for Rochester City Council in early April and has been regularly attending the city council meetings since last November.

“I decided to run for Rochester City Council because I have a passion for people and a will to serve,” said Amanda. “I have a deep investment in this community, not only because my husband and I own a home here but I work here as well. Rochester is the ideal place to live and working together with constituents I pledge to keep it that way.”
